Clemens Binder, MA, is a scientific researcher at the Austrian Institute for International Affairs with a focus on technology and security, especially topic of interior security such as border policing and surveillance. In addition, he is involved in the project “Transnational Lecture Series on the Internationalization of Science, Technology and Innovation”, within which he researches on the internationalization of innovation and developments in the research sector. He studied political science in Vienna and Oslo and is currently absolving his doctoral studies at the University of Vienna. In his dissertation he focuses on the connection between conceptions of (in)security and technology development in the realm of border security with a regional focus on Europe and the US.
