Hugh Schmidt, MA is a recent graduate of the University of Vienna, where he received his master’s degree in Science and Technology Studies. His thesis focused on how religious scientists understood the interaction between their academic work and their religious faith. His research interests are in knowledge production and innovation. At the oiip, he is working on a project examining innovation in the context of European health security, specifically how the COVID 19 pandemic changed the way that Europe approaches biosecurity.
