Dr. Müge Dalkıran
Visiting Fellow

Müge Dalkıran is a visiting fellow at Austrian Institute for International Affairs – oiip. She completed her Ph.D. in Area Studies (Europe) at the Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara. Within the frame of her doctoral thesis, she focused on the refugee protection in Greece. Previously, she was a junior fellow at IWM Vienna (January-March 2022) and at the Institute of International Relations – Idis in Athens (October-December 2019). She also took part as a researcher in various projects on forced migration conducted by prominent institutes and universities including the Europe-Asia Research Platform on Forced Migration, and the “SSHRC Partnership Development Grant – Migrants, Refugees, and the International State System” under the supervision of the University of Toronto and Georgetown University. Since October 2020, she has been teaching the EU’s Mediterranean Policy  and International Migration in Europe as an adjunct faculty in the International Relations Department at Istanbul Kültür University. She has publications and analyses on forced migration, refugee rights, and migration and asylum policies.
