Valentina Gruarin finished her master’s degree in European and Global Studies in March 2022 at the University of Padova (Italy). She developed her MA thesis titled “Global North interventions in MENA region: a post-development critical analysis”. The degree committee awarded Valentina’s thesis the highest grade.

During her academic path, Valentina deepened her knowledge through various training experiences. In 2018 she participated at the National Model United Nations (NMUN) in New York, gaining knowledge on the General Assembly decision-making processes.

Valentina also did an Erasmus programme spending a semester in Sciences Po Paris in 2019, and in March 2021 she took part in a training course on ‘Euro-Mediterranean analyst’ held by the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI). During 2021, Valentina also wrote articles, as a freelance journalist, for an online newspaper dealing with geopolitics and Africa society and politics.

In November 2022, Valentina started an internship at the Oiip and she’s currently working on “The regional dimension of transatlantic relations in a new world order: The war in Ukraine and its impact on the European neighborhood (Western Balkans, MENA, Turkey)”.
