Allison Castillo Small, BA
IMSSIS Fellow

Allison Castillo Small is a research fellow at the oiip from January 2022 to April 2022. She is currently an Erasmus Scholarship holder at the International Master in Security, Intelligence and Strategic Studies (IMSISS) at the University of Glasgow. Allison’s research focuses on gender/masculinities, criminology and radicalization. She is interested in the connection between masculinity, gender-based violence and right-wing extremism; as well as human and gender-driven prevention, rehabilitation and prison reform efforts to effectively combat these issues. Her master thesis will analyse the nexus between the far-right and the manosphere (incels, PUAs, MGTOWs and Men’s Rights Activists), and how these movements connect through misogyny and hyper-masculinity.
