Portrait: Sarah  Pavlis

Sarah Pavlis holds a Master’s degree from the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna, where she completed her thesis on the mahalla system and local governance in Uzbekistan. Before her Master’s, she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Social and Human Sciences from the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB).

Her fields of interest include governance and social organization in post-Soviet societies, regional cooperation in Central Asia, and the evolving role of Turkic states in international relations.

At the institute, she works under the supervision of Dr. Cengiz Günay, focusing on Turkish foreign policy, particularly diplomatic relations with the U.S., EU and Central Asia.
