Portrait: Simeon  Bright

Simeon Bright is a a senior at Indiana University Bloomington and an intern at the oiip as part of the International Education of Students program (IES Abroad). He is currently studying history and nonprofit management. In the future, he plans on receiving a master’s degree in museum studies and pursuing a career in the museum field. While he is interested in museum work, he is a historian at heart. His fields of historical interest revolve around social history, disability history, and the discussion of public memory in the social context. He believes history plays a key role in politics and can serve as a guide to understanding modern politics while still giving room for new ideas and understandings.
