Dr. Widy Susanto is an Ernst Mach Fellow at the oiip, where he researches the history of multinational cooperation in nuclear enrichment and reprocessing in the Asia-Pacific region. He earned his PhD in History from Bilkent University in 2024, with a dissertation on U.S.–Southeast Asia relations during the Cold War. In 2023, he held fellowships at the Wilson Center’s Cold War Archives Research Institute and its Nuclear Proliferation International History Project. Between 2020 and 2022, he was a Graduate Fellow in the Globalization of the Atom: Nuclear Trade and the Spread of Atomic Weapons research project at Bilkent University. Beyond nuclear history, his research interests include the history of development in Southeast Asia.
