Theresa Rauch is a graduate from the International Joint MA in Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Kent (United Kingdom) and the Philipps-Universität Marburg (Germany). Before her Master’s, she completed by BA in History with a focus on international relations and conflict studies at Utrecht University (Netherlands). Her fields of interest are post-conflict societies, transitional justice, international criminal law, as well as diaspora studies. Throughout her studies, she developed a regional focus on the Balkans, particularly on Bosnia and Herzegovina. In her Master’s thesis, she explored creative expressions of identity and belonging by the Bosnian diaspora in the DACH countries. At the institute, she will focus on Austrian citizenship law, dual citizenship and their implications for the lived realities of diasporic communities in Austria under the supervision of Dr. Vedran Dzihic. In her research, she seeks to engage bottom-up, intersectional perspectives and a civil society approach.
