Lucie Stiborová, BA
Intern
Lucie Stiborová joined Dr. Thomas Eder’s team in October to contribute to research projects related to China. She is in her first year of the master’s program East Asian Economy and Society at the University of Vienna. In her bachelor’s studies in International Business Administration and Sinology, she focused on the interconnections between international politics, economics, and culture through specialized courses. She has also completed several study abroad programs, namely at Yonsei University in South Korea and the Warsaw School of Economics in Poland, where she became familiar with different historically and culturally rooted approaches to the study of international relations.
Her research interests include relations between the European Union and China, particularly from a European perspective, examining for instance how European positions toward China are changing in the context of new security challenges and the rise of right-wing populist parties. She is also interested in the development of the regional order in East Asia and the roles of Japan and the United States within it.
