Zeynep Öztürk is a research intern at the oiip. Her research focuses on labor relations, social movements, and grassroots politics in comparative perspective, using qualitative and historical methods. She is particularly interested in how economic and social transformations both shape and are shaped by labor organizations and political participation in authoritarian contexts.
Zeynep holds a BA in Political Science from Istanbul Bilgi University, an MS in Media and Cultural Studies from Middle East Technical University, and an MA in Sociology and Social Anthropology from Central European University, where her research examined state-capital-labor relations in Turkey’s extractive industries. She is currently preparing to begin a PhD in Political Science at the University of Vienna.
