Mariavittoria Maggi is currently completing her International Master’s in Security, Intelligence and Strategic Studies (IMSISS), after earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Business Management. Her research interests revolve around human rights, with a focus on peace and conflict theory, including conflict transformation and international intervention in conflicts, as well as migration governance. Her studies delve into the European Union’s foreign and security policy, with a focus on initiatives such as the European Neighbourhood Policy and civilian CSDP missions, particularly in North Africa and the Mediterranean region. Her master’s dissertation focuses on EU and national policies on migration governance, specifically in the cases of securitised and weaponised migration flows. At the OIIP she assists in researching EU and foreign policy-making processes, the European Neighbourhood Policy and neoliberal interventions and their effects, under the guidance of Dr. Cengiz Günay.
