Alexander Klimburg is a Fellow at the Austrian Institute for International Affairs. Since joining the Institute in October 2006, Mr. Klimburg has undertaken government national security projects for, among others, the Austrian Federal Chancellery, the Ministry of Defense, and the National Security Council. Mr. Klimburg has partaken in international and intergovernmental discussions, and acts as an advisor to the Austrian delegation to the OSCE as well as other different bodies. 

 

Work experience:
Current topics of Mr. Klimburg include Comprehensive Security and the EU Commen Foreign and Security Policy (with emphasis on Conflict Prevention), strategic analysis within security policy (horizon scanning and early warning), developments in warfare and terrorism, as well as Cyber Security (incl. Warfare, Terrorism and Crime) and Critical Infrastructure Protection. 

Mr. Klimburg speaks German, English, Mandarin and French.
