Johannes Späth (B.A.), is a german Master’s student in political science with a focus on International Politics at the University of Vienna. He pursued the same studies in his undergraduate’s program at the University of Regensburg, where he graduated in 2020. His bachelor thesis explored the motivations behind the Russian intervention in the Syrian civil war. Currently he´s writing his Master thesis in which he evaluates whether the NATO intervention in Libya in 2011 can legitimately be described as a humanitarian intervention. During his time at the oiip he will be working on a project with the aim of exploring the foreign policy decision making process in authoritarian systems.
